job Description The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications from highly motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate students undertaking industrial attachment/internship as part of their degree programme. The successful candidates will join a research and product development team working on the development and value addition of food products derived from indigenous fruits. Duties and Responsibilities The successful interns will be expected to: -Assist with the collection, handling, processing, and preservation of indigenous fruit samples. -Participate in the formulation and development of novel food products from indigenous fruits. -Conduct laboratory analyses, including physicochemical, microbiological, and sensory evaluations, under supervision. -Prepare laboratory reagents, operate laboratory equipment, and maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety standards. -Accurately record experimental observations and research data. -Assist with data entry, data analysis, and preparation of technical reports. -Support quality control and quality assurance activities during product development. -Participate in literature reviews and contribute to research discussions. -Assist with pilot-scale production, product optimization, packaging, and shelf-life studies where applicable. -Adhere to laboratory safety procedures, ethical standards, and departmental policies. -Perform any other research or laboratory-related duties assigned by the supervisors.
